What You Can Do
Compare thermal protection options
Explore how entered weather, concrete properties, insulation, exposure conditions, and heating assumptions affect calculated core and shell temperatures.
Review enclosure heating demand
Evaluate heating scenarios using entered enclosure losses, equipment capacity, and efficiency. Review estimated heating energy alongside temperature results.
Document insulation assumptions
Maintain insulation records and compare candidate R-values using consistent project inputs.
Review temperature criteria
Check minimum temperatures, core-to-shell differences, and hourly endpoints below an entered temperature threshold.
Control hydration heat assumptions
Use documented hourly or cumulative heat-release inputs, or evaluate a scenario without hydration heat credit.
Organize field monitoring
Record sensor observations and compare matching field readings with forecast values while keeping actual measurements separate from planning inputs.
Evaluate maturity with defined evidence requirements
Calculate temperature-time-factor maturity from a valid sensor history. Conditional strength estimates require an approved, mixture-specific logarithmic maturity–strength relationship and supporting information.
Prepare a preliminary protection plan
Bring selected inputs, calculated results, monitoring requirements, and review holds into a printable project report.

Important Scope & Use Information
This toolkit supports preliminary planning and documentation. Its thermal model estimates average core and shell temperatures; it does not resolve exact surface, edge, or corner temperatures. Numerical verification has been performed, but physical accuracy has not been established through field validation.
The package does not provide mass-concrete thermal stress or cracking analysis, automatic code-compliance certification, or approval for protection removal, formwork removal, shoring changes, post-tensioning, or structural loading. These decisions require appropriate project review and supporting field evidence.
Demonstration values are fictional and must be replaced before project use. The 14-day horizon is a calculation period, not a prescribed or guaranteed curing duration.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the workbook automatically collect weather or sensor data?
No. Weather and field observations are entered by the user. Live weather feeds and real-time sensor connections are not included.
Can it estimate concrete strength?
Conditional estimates are available only when a valid measured temperature history and the required approved, mixture-specific maturity–strength relationship are supplied. The workbook does not develop or certify that relationship.
Does it support US customary units?
The main inputs and calculations use SI units. Explicit US-to-SI conversion aids are provided, and the insulation library accepts US R-values. There is no global unit switch.
Can the analysis run beyond 14 days?
The supplied ranges cover 336 hours. Extending the horizon requires coordinated changes to inputs, formulas, summaries, and charts, followed by verification.
Can I use the toolkit on client projects?
Yes. The included license permits professional project use and sharing completed reports and forms with authorized project participants. Redistribution or resale of the original toolkit is prohibited.
